The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining and analyzing financial records to ensure accurate reporting in compliance with GAAP and applicable tax regulations. This role plays a key part in month-end close, internal controls, compliance, and cross-functional collaboration. This is a 90-day temp-to-hire position, with flexibility to work 3 days remote once perm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, and assist with month-end close
- Perform balance sheet and income statement analysis
- Support internal controls across transaction processing areas (AP, AR, Inventory)
- Assist in the preparation of tax filings (sales, property, corporate, etc.)
- Collaborate on process improvement, system enhancements, and scalable accounting workflows
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders on financial reporting and compliance
- Contribute to cross-departmental initiatives to enhance operational efficiency
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (MBA or MAcc preferred)
- CPA certification or in active pursuit (minimum: passed one part and currently preparing for remaining)
- 3+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience, ideally in public accounting
- Proficiency in GAAP, Microsoft Office, and accounting/ERP systems
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Willingness to travel and work occasional weekends (up to 10%)
