Job Summary
The Phone Operator is responsible for handling incoming calls and directing to appropriate person in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner. This role serves as the first point of contact for callers, providing information, directing calls to the appropriate departments, and ensuring a positive experience.
Key Responsibilities
• Answer incoming phone calls promptly and professionally
• Direct calls to the appropriate person or department
• Take and relay accurate messages when necessary
• Provide basic information about the organization, services, or procedures
• Make outgoing calls as required (e.g., follow-ups, appointments, notifications)
• Maintain call logs and records as needed
• Handle multiple calls while maintaining a calm and polite manner
• Follow company policies regarding confidentiality and phone etiquette
• Escalate urgent or complex calls to supervisors when appropriate
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Call Center or Customer Service experience
• Office experience
• Clear speaking voice and excellent communication skills
• Strong listening and customer service skills
• Ability to multitask and manage high call volumes
• Basic computer and phone system skills
• Ability to work under pressure
Schedule:
Monday- Friday 1:00pm – 5:00pm; will also have the ability to work fulltime hours to cover for other staff
Wage:
$16.00 per hour
