Position Description Summary:

RSi is looking to fill a Maintenance Test Pilot (MTP), Service Contract Act labor category #15086, position supporting our contract in Ft. Benning, Georgia.

This contract provides maintenance and logistics support to our government customer and the Army Ranger School operations. The MTP operates within a team of pilots, all reporting to the Chief Pilot. The MTP’s are responsible for performing all assigned Maintenance Test Flights (MTF) IAW applicable Army publications and Regulations. his position ensures all post-maintenance operational checks, test flights, and airworthiness procedures are performed in strict accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Preflight coordination with the Chief Pilot to ensure all maintenance has been completed and the aircraft is safe for flight per RSi procedures and Army Regulations.
  • Performs testing—using both ground and in-flight diagnostic test equipment—during various phases of flight, including engine run-up and taxi, to ensure that aircraft systems or components affected by inspection or maintenance actions have been properly repaired, reassembled, or adjusted.
  • Evaluate aircraft systems, engines, and accessories for compliance with airworthiness standards and contract specifications, utilizing proven diagnostic and operational techniques .
  • Perform pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight procedures in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Maintain all necessary flight documentation and records in required systems.
  • Participate in any post flight after action reviews.

Required Minimum Education/Experience/Certifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Successfully completed Army Maintenance Test Pilots Course (MTPC) for the MDS H60 series assigned
  • Able to pass an FAA second class flight physical annually
  • FAA Instrument Certification
  • 1,000+ hours of pilot in command (PC/PIC) time
  • Knowledge of army regulations, FAA, DOT, FAR and contractor operations
  • Expert level knowledge of the applicable aircraft model
  • Excellent communication skills

Preferred Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/IT Skills/Certifications:

  • Leadership experience (military or civilian)

Work Environment :

Aircraft areas, workshops, and other industrial/outdoor settings

Physical Environment (outside, inside, heights, stairs etc) /Requirements (lifting, heights, bending etc):

Ability to enter and exit an aircraft safely. Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.

Othe r :

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, make rational decisions, and exercise good judgement.

Willingness to participate in shift work, occasional travel, and ongoing training
