Responsibilities:

  • Surgical management/care for patients with benign and malignant diseases of the liver, pancreas and bile ducts, participating in related regional/ national/ international conferences, teaching fellows/students, and conducting clinical trials or other research.
  • Perform surgical procedures with precision and expertise, adhering to established protocols and national guidelines
  • Stay current with advancements in surgical techniques, technologies, and research.
  • Maintain accurate medical coding for procedures performed and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Provide compassionate care in various settings including clinics, senior care facilities, or hospice care environments as needed.

Experience/Requirements:

  • A Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
  • American Board Certified in Surgery – General Surgery
  • Must have or be eligible for California State Medical licensure
  • Completion of a residency program from an ACGME accredited program in surgery
  • Fellowship trained in an accredited AHPBA (Americas Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association) fellowship program or equivalent CGSO (Complex General Surgical Oncology) fellowship program with high volume HPB specific case experience
  • Complex laparoscopic and/or robotic HPB and intraoperative ultrasound experience
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience as a surgeon specializing within treating liver, bile duct and pancreatic cancer.
  • Well versed in the surgical and medical management of benign and malignant conditions in the liver, pancreas, bile duct and duodenum
  • Highly skilled and experienced hepatopancreaticobiliary (HPB) surgeon who will provide exceptional and evidence based surgical care for complex liver, biliary, and pancreatic conditions
  • Commitment to multidisciplinary team discussions, ongoing quality improvement, and patient centered initiatives Has excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
  • Commitment to teaching, education, working with fellows
  • Focused on quality and standard of care
