The Cost Accountant is responsible for ensuring compliance with accounting regulations and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. This role requires strong analytical skills, in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties and competencies are essential for success in this role:
- In-depth knowledge of inventory and cost accounting principles
- Oversight and execution of Accounts Payable processes, including invoice processing and payment issuance
- Management of Accounts Receivable processes, including customer correspondence, collections, and statement generation
- Maintenance and tracking of fixed assets
- Participation in financial and other accounting-related audits
- Support in other accounting functions as assigned
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Meticulous attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to sort large amounts of data (Pivot Tables, VLookup, etc)
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar organization)
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to adapt and work independently
- Team-oriented, with a willingness to assist in other departmental areas when needed
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (equivalent experience may be considered)
- Experience in the automotive industry preferred but not required
